The concept of the identity was to reduce the letters of 'toucan' down to the basic shapes that a child will discover in early education.           The bright colours were based on old plastic games and puzzles (usually made by Galt).           To contrast with the stark logo, a friendly warm serif typeface was chosen.			The nursery was formerly a public house, and sadly they had to remove the old swinging pub sign. In its place a simple box sign was raised, fortunately more eye-catching than the previous incarnation.		It was important to acknowledge Haggerston Park, which was a mere stone's throw away from the nursery. I collected a bagful of leaves, and traced any interesting ones found. Due to no money for photography or illustration, these provided all the decoration needed.          The printing budget was very tight, it was printed in digital black and white across different coloured stocks to allow for multi-colour spreads.
